LinkedIn is so much more than a social media platform. It is a powerful business networking tool, and if used correctly, it will help you generate leads, build relationships and promote your business with confidence.
In this practical session, we will look at:
– The more technical aspects of LinkedIn: Understanding the algorithm, optimising your profile and using keywords to boost your appearance in search.
– How you can uncover what you need to say to attract the people you want to work with and understand what they need to hear from you.
– How you can create a simple strategy that is about more than just posting, and sets you apart from the competition.
You will leave the session with:
– That all-important stand-out headline which will help you rank in the search feed and get more eyes on your profile.
– An understanding of how to use LinkedIn to create real conversations you can take offline.
– A framework to create a simple, weekly checklist to help you ditch the overwhelm.
Who will deliver this workshop?
Melanie Johnson, Founder of The Sussex Social, is a marketing strategist, consultant and social media trainer who specialises in helping you develop practical marketing strategies that fit the needs of your business.
Mel says, ‘Described by my clients as the perfect blend of creative and analytical, I will work with you to support you in your marketing activities and overcome those worrying moments. I can help you refine your core messages, so that you can stand out and reach more of the people you want and need to be working with. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, promising people they will make millions overnight, or utilising scarcity tactics to secure clients. Instead, I focus on putting your people at the centre of the marketing, helping you showcase your values, and creating content that your audiences want and need to see’.

Who is organising this workshop? Why women only?
This workshop is open to anyone who identifies as being a woman or a non-binary person.
This workshop is hosted by Thrive – an impact-led business on a mission to enable female founders, creatives and changemakers gain the knowledge, clarity and community they need to grow a resilient, small business.
Clare Griffiths, Founder of Thrive, wants to address the gender imbalance in the small business world.
In the UK, in 2022, only 20% of businesses with no employees were led by women (Source: Small Business Survey by the Department for Business & Trade). In addition, the transition rate from early-stage entrepreneurial activity to established business ownership is relatively lower for female as compared to male entrepreneurs. In the UK, in 2022, there were roughly half as many female established business owners as there were males. This follows a similar trend in recent years.
