Celebrating 2024!

This year at Enjoolata has been nothing short of extraordinary! We began with the launch of a new Community Grant Round, receiving an astounding 130 applications. From these, we proudly supported 45 inspiring projects, welcoming 20 remarkable new partners into the ever-growing Enjoolata Community.

While celebrating the expansion of our community, we have also focused on nurturing the partnerships we’ve built over the years.

Over the past year, we have prioritised reconnecting with them and enhancing our resources to help them achieve long-term sustainability. Our efforts have included initiatives to boost their wellbeing, strengthen their organisational structures, and improve their fundraising strategies.

We’ve also embraced innovative funding approaches, such as our Match-Funded Brighton 10K and Multi-Year Funding Program, to provide stability between grant rounds.

Leveraging the expertise within our network, we hosted workshops on key topics like fundraising, marketing, and mental health. A standout moment was our collaboration with Stoneham Bakehouse, offering therapeutic bread-making sessions that proved both restorative and inspiring.

This year, we welcomed Aimi to our team, and her contributions have been transformative. Her work on our new website has streamlined our application process, and based on valuable partner feedback, we’re piloting these updates to ease the administrative burden on applicants.

Recognising the challenges of a competitive funding environment, we took proactive steps to address an issue many partners face: restrictions on reapplying for funding. As a result, our latest grant round was dedicated exclusively to our existing partners. This approach reflects our trust in our community and our commitment to providing ongoing support to those who have invested so much in our shared vision.

We’ve continued to nurture connections within our community through biannual coffee mornings, where like-minded changemakers come together to share ideas and experiences. We’re deeply grateful to our partners Kate (It’s Our Planet Too), Caroline (PATINA), Paul (The Real Junk Food Project), and Tim (Brighton Table Tennis Club) for facilitating these invaluable gatherings.

As we prepare to step into 2025, we are energised by the successes of this past year and excited for the opportunities ahead. Together with our partners, we look forward to building an even stronger, more impactful Enjoolata Community.
