Who are The Launchpad Collective?

TLC was recently chosen as one of the Big Issue 2025 Changemakers - receiving the most nominations of all changemakers!

Our vision is for refugees to be welcome and recognised as positively contributing to society. We use employment as a vehicle for this social change. Steered by refugees, for refugees, we forge lasting relationships between employers and refugee job seekers. Businesses are supported to become refugee-friendly, whilst refugees are empowered to unlock their potential through our training and learning packages. Togetherness is at the heart of everything we do. We stand side by side with refugees and employers, devoting time, energy and love to all our services.

Who do they need?

1. VOLUNTEER MENTORS - Recruiting year round. regular commitment (could be 2 hours a week or month). Online support working with refugees. Tasks could involve; Supporting people with applications for jobs, language courses, higher education or vocational courses. Preparing for job interviews, working on CV's and cover letters and similar. We are looking for digital confident, friendly, patient and encouraging individuals.

2. EXPERIENCED LANGUAGE TEACHERS - Urgently needed for their Work-Ready English programme in March. This is an online 20 week course. Involves a weekly one to one, 90 minute lesson with a refugee job seeker. We are looking for people with a CELTA/TEFL qualification or similar. Good digital skills are needed. We provide the training, all teaching resources and DBS checks.
