A local future where people and the planet thrive together
Collaboration, community, connection
At the heart of our purpose lies the conviction that enduring, meaningful change originates within the community.
We empower local charities and social enterprises through grant funding and dedicated partner support. The Enjoolata Foundation is a connector for our community to collaborate, driving greater social and environmental impact.
Together, we amplify marginalised voices, creating connected, engaged and empowered communities that are better positioned to make positive change for people and the planet.
Going beyond funding
We’re committed to supporting our partners in building resilient and competent teams, equipping them to thrive in ways that suit them and their organisations.
While we provide annual funding opportunities, our true strength lies in the enduring relationships we cultivate within our community. This is complemented by access to a growing range of workshops, skills-based training, and year-round wellbeing support, demonstrating our commitment to creating a supportive environment beyond financial contributions for all members of our network.
We’re here to help our partners create lasting and transformative change.
Our name
The name of our Foundation is inspired by a saying coined by the tribespeople of the Maasai Mara in the African Great Lakes region of Kenya. ‘Enjoolata!’ describes the ‘joy felt when something hidden becomes known, when something concealed becomes revealed’.
At Enjoolata, we believe enduring and impactful change originates from within communities. By providing funding and support to individuals intimately connected with and dedicated to improving their own communities, we catalyse positive transformation, unearth hidden voices, and spark joy in the process.
Our team is an extension of yours
Established in 2020, the Enjoolata team came together with a shared awareness of the profound economic repercussions affecting individuals and small local organisations in the aftermath of the global pandemic.
Motivated by a collective commitment to address these impacts, our team embarked on a journey to make a positive difference in the lives of those facing unprecedented challenges.

Bridging local and global transformation: a commitment to learning
Since 2020, our Foundation has prioritised supporting local partners across East Sussex within BN postcodes. We are dedicated to making a meaningful local impact.
Before 2020, we collaborated with charities worldwide and continue to maintain international partnerships with organisations in Kenya, Nepal, and the Maldives.
To foster mutual learning, we organise meetups in Brighton, creating opportunities for meaningful exchanges between our visiting international partners and local collaborators. This contributes to a more extensive and interconnected global network to the benefit of everyone involved.
Please visit Our Stories page for specific examples of the positive impact resulting from these collaborations.
